Meaghan Allen
Functional Analysis + Undergraduate Mathematics Education Research
Hello! My name is Meaghan Allen (maiden name Mahoney) and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of New Hampshire.Â
My advisor is Dr. Junhao Shen. My primary research interests are in Functional Analysis and Operator Algebras. I am working on extending and generalizing Wigner's Theorem for von Neumann algebras.
I am also interested in Undergraduate Mathematics Education research. I am have worked with Dr. Orly Buchbinder to characterize students' understanding of implicit differentiation in Calculus I. I will be a research assistant for the '24-'25 academic year looking at student data from an ongoing multi-subject project to improve teaching of introductory STEM courses.
